Afriplex®PS70 Liquid
Pelargonium sidoides DC is a member of the Geraniaceae family that is native to the coastal region of South Africa and has for centuries been used in Traditional Medicine as a remedy for diarrhoea, dysentery and the serious complications resulting from dysentery, making it a complementary & alternative medicine with a long history of success.
In addition to the powder format of Afriplex®PS70, Afriplex is proud to add the Afriplex®PS70 liquid to our API range.
This API has been subjected to extensive clinical research with conclusive results indicating a reduction in duration and severity of acute upper respiratory tract infections, including bronchitis, tonsillopharyngitis, sinusitis and the cold.
This API was specifically developed for pharmaceutical formulation in syrups, drops, throat sprays and capsules.
Afriplex®Moringa B
Moringa oleifera is a specie of a tree native to the sub-Himalayan regions in North-western India, but also found in several tropical and sub-tropical regions across Africa, South America and South East Asia. Moringa leaf is known to contain a spectrum of high nutritive components such as amino acids, vitamins, carbohydrates, minerals, protein and organic acids and is widely regarded as the most-nutrient-dense plant ever studied.
The leaves of this plant naturally contain several B vitamins. Afriplex developed a water soluble Moringa powder extract that is now standardised on 100% NRV of the following B vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 & B12. This product can be formulated in syrups, capsules, tablets, drops and powder compounds. It is applicable to the food & beverage and nutraceutical market.
Afriplex®C-Ferin
Honeybush, Cyclopia spp., a plant endemic to South Africa, has been shown to possess multifactorial pharmacological activities, including antioxidative, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antiaging, hepatoprotective, cardioprotective, and neuroprotective effects. In addition, it might also be the healthy alternative to replace caffeine without the associated side effects. This is due to the major phenolic compound found abundantly in Honeybush, a natural C-glucoside xanthone called Mangiferin.
Research concluded that extracts containing high levels of Mangiferin have been shown to control numerous physiological and central nervous system (CNS) targets, ameliorate insulin resistance, decrease tumor size, and protects the body against oxidative stress related damage. Afriplex developed two standardised Honeybush extracts, Afriplex®C-Ferin 5 and Afriplex®C-Ferin 30, containing 5% and 30% Mangiferin respectively.
The Afriplex®C-Ferin 5 and Afriplex®C-Ferin 30 products can be formulated in a as a C-Ferin tablet, powder compound, syrup, capsule, tablet or tincture drop and is applicable to the Health Supplement, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, Veterinary and Food & Beverage market sectors.
