“Cannabis – Is It All Smoke and Mirrors?”

Afriplex’s Technical Symposium

As part of this year’s Afriplex Technical Symposium we will be discussing the very newsworthy subject of “Cannabis – Is it all smoke and mirrors?”.

This topic fits well with this year’s symposium theme of ‘Harnessing Nature’s Best’ as it explores the health benefits and potential commercial uses for this hotly debated botanical. The event will take place at the JSE Conference centre in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Wednesday 12 September 2018.

Cannabis-health-benefits-potential-commercial-uses2Since the Medicine Control Council (MCC), now SAHPRA, published its intent in 2017 to allow for licencing of the cultivation and processing of Cannabis, the South African market has been interested to understand more about this controversial ingredient.

Afriplex, the foremost leader in Botanical Extractions, has the infrastructure, capabilities and botanical know-how to expand into this market. As a result, we are excited that with the recent changes in the legislation and the positive moves that the new South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) has employed, this market is set to experience positive growth and benefit to the South African consumer.

It is with this in mind that Afriplex’s Responsible Pharmacist, Robert Longrigg, will present this topic at the symposium, to identify the status of the industry in terms of legislation, and also where Afriplex is positioned to take the lead in this market. Robert is uniquely equipped to draw on his 35 years of pharmaceutical and complimentary medicine experience when he aims to answer all your questions about the legality, uses and way forward for Cannabis and CBD (Cannabidiol).

We look forward to spend the day with our clients and partners as we delve further into the valuable topics at the symposium whilst providing an opportunity for the industry to learn together.

If you would like to attend this event, please send confirmation of your interest to LaurenM@afriplex.co.za to be shortlisted for an invitation.

See you there.
